Verity Hunt-Ballard
Verity Hunt-Ballard is an Australian musical theatre performer most recognised for her award winning role as Mary Poppins. Verity graduated from WAAPA in 2003. Starring in Mary Poppins in the coveted role of Mary won her a Helpmann Award for Best Female Actor in a Musical and a Green Room Award for Best Female Artist in a Leading Role in Music Theatre. The talented performer accepted her awards wearing Leiela.
Verity won the Helpmann Award a second time last week for Best Actress in a Musical. This was for Sweet Charity which had a sold out season earlier in the year. Congratulations Verity! We are proud to say Verity accepted her second Helpmann Award wearing Leiela
Her other theatre credits include: Jersey Boys, The Rocky Horror Show, Virgins (The New York Musical Theatre Festival and MalthouseTheatre), After the Beep (The Adelaide Cabaret Festival), Eureka and Metro Street (The State Theatre Company of SA) for which she won a Curtain Call Award for Best Female Performance. Verity is featured on Eddie Perfect’s recording ‘Drink Pepsi Bitch’ and performs regularly in concert with various orchestras and big bands around Australia
