At Leiela, we know that everybody loves to feel glamorous. All too often, glamour is reserved for only the most SPECIAL of events – which means that our daily lives aren’t touched by that particular beauty of formal gowns, glittering jewels and regal hair and makeup. The premise that glamour should be more obtainable and more easily accessible was the idea behind Leiela’s addition to L’Oreal Melbourne Fashion Festival 2012’s Cultural Program. Today’s brief blog wraps up our experience of the event – what we learned, who we met and glammed, and what we’ll be doing for our next ‘glamour meets the street’ project. Who doesn’t love a Cinderella story? The ladies of Melbourne were given an opportunity to be transformed from their normal workday attire into glamorous vixens by the Leiela team. Using Facebook, we promoted to our fans and various Melbourne fashion bloggers that we would be going to several secret locations on a particular day – giving makeovers to lucky participants who visited us – and full gown transformations to one lady at each venue. From Moonee Ponds to Melbourne’s bustling Bourke Street and down to glittering Docklands, we found ladies lining up for a little extra glam in their lives. In collaboration with a veritable treasure-trove of supporters including photographers, videographers, drivers, movers and talented hair and makeup artists, Leiela Staging Glamour was well under way! Here are the transformations made real – before and after.
What beautiful swans emerged from the Leiela Staging Glamour experience! We finished off the day with a distinctly Miami-style photoshoot on a yacht, kindly supplied by Victorian Yacht Charters. We also worked in collaboration with the Documentary Shop to create a series of reality tv style Staging Glamour episodes, which you can see in full by clicking here.
We then went on to hold a Facebook competition, where fans could vote for their favourite makeover. We certainly learned a lot from the Staging Glamour LMFF 2012 experience! Leiela look forward to bringing more fashion to the street and letting more of our supportive community enjoy a little more glamour in their lives – a little more often. For the Leiela team, being engaged with our community is of paramount importance. Whether it is dressing clients for Logies, Brownlow Medal and sporting events, film and television awards, weddings and special events or hosting runways to support various charities nationally – we’re enthusiastic and can’t wait to be involved.
