Continuing along the Leiela Insider fashion journey, designer Lucy Laurita took time out in LA to explore street fashion, discovering laid-back street style to be the perfect attire for sunny summer days and relaxing beach

fashion, whilst the busy streets of Santa Monica provided Lucy with plenty of inspiration for coming summer fashion trends.
Taking time out on Malibu beach, Lucy was able to reflect and gather her ideas and inspiration for new Leiela creations, especially with Melbourne Spring Racing Carnival fast approaching.

During the weekend, it was time for sights and parties with Maurice and Celeste. It was all about Hollywood, with visits to the Kodak theatre, the famous Hollywood sign and Hollywood Boulevard.

“It was amazing to be standing in the same place as these talented actor’s,” says Lucy, “I had flashbacks of watching the classics from when I was young – films with Doris Day, Jerry Lewis and Sophia Loren.”
Hollywood Hills
On Saturday evening, it was a star-studded event, attending a Hollywood party.

“There are some incredible homes in the Hollywood Hills, and this one certainly was magnificent,” Lucy exclaims, “From the attention to detail, exquisite food, party decor, freshly laid lawn for the evening and live performance by Laura Wilde.”
After the weekend, it was time to head to Vegas. The road trip turned out to be unexpectedly
adventurous, with a four hour planned journey through the desert turning into seven hours in hot 40-degree heat. The trip was going well, until over half way toward their destination traffic came to a grinding halt. With the traffic held up, Maurice kept his cool behind the wheel and decided to U-turn.
Stopping at a local General Store, the crew quickly realised that every one else had also decided to do the same. Locals were saying the best bet was to stay put until traffic cleared.

Maurice however, would have none of that and decided to blaze his own trail to Vegas. With Lucy and Celeste feeling slightly nervous at

the idea of desert rattle-snakes and skulls along the highway, it turned out to be a good move. Off they went and not only did Maurice’s clever navigation see them arrive safely at their destination, but Lucy and Celeste got to see even more of the famous Route 66.
