What started out as a simple holiday workshop for children turned into a fun morning for everyone!
With each child at their ART du JOUR by Leiela creative stations with their kits at the ready and generously dressed in our aprons handmade with love for a donation to Kids Under Cover, we welcomed Leonie Leondia of Curious Cakes. To start each person had four simple cupcake bases and lush green, delicious Swiss meringue butter cream icing, made by Leonie, with which they could create their elves and fairies gardens.
Everybody had fun learning to decorate as Leonie gave instructions and help on how to make the perfect accessories to a magical garden. From green grass, colourful toadstools and friendly snails to flowers of all sizes and pretty butterflies. It goes without saying that all hands, minds and imaginations were busy rolling, sculpting, cutting, sticking and stamping the vivid colours of the fondant icing supplied by Bakels.
Each child was awarded with their very own gift activity bag, balloon and certificate.
With their 4 cupcakes complete and looking mighty tasty, to avoid the full sugar rushes to come, everyone was able to take home their achievements of the morning with their own 4 hole cupcake window box by Cheerico Bakery Supplies, perfectly housing their cupcakes with a window to share and display their fantastic elves and fairies garden cupcakes.
Thank you to Firechief in Hawthorn East and Slices in Keilor for allowing us to use your venue for our creative work spaces, after all of the hard work it was great to sit down and enjoy a hearty post workshop lunch too.
