Model Letitia Sindt first walked the runway for Leiela gowns at ART du JOUR by Leiela’s Spring Soiree event held as part of Melbourne Spring Fashion Week 2014. The gorgeous cover girl model relishes her part in fashion mostly due to the constantly changing nature of the industry – every photo-shoot is completely different to the last, and there are always opportunities to evolve. She enjoys the social nature, “I love meeting lots of different and unique people!” and says the number one tip for glamorous dressing is to make sure you feel comfortable and completely confident in whatever you’re wearing.
“If you feel great in what you are wearing, it will show,” says Letitia.
Shortly after entering Miss Universe Pageant 2014, and upon completing her first professional photo-shoot, Letitia knew the world of fashion was the one for her. Drawing inspiration from superstar Miranda Kerr, she has gone from strength to strength, modeling for Melbourne’s most established designers and continuing to improve her craft. She would love to see the Australian fashion industry grow to become on a par with the international scene.
“The fashion industry in Australia is small in comparison to other countries – I would like to see this change in the future, and allow designers greater exposure in the marketplace.”
Outside of Australia, the travel destination of choice is Italy’s Milan – not merely for the famous fashion, but also for the rich and vibrant culture and historic landmarks so characteristic of the city. Models need their downtime too, and Letitia enjoys going out for dinner, and snow skiing during the winter months. “It’s a great from of exercise, and I love the atmosphere at the snow!” she enthuses.
She has a fun and girly side that comes through when offering make-up advice. “It’s important to know which colours best suit your face, for example, gold and browns for blue eyes, pinks for brown eyes!” she says, “but make sure you always take your make-up off before you go to bed. Your skin needs to breathe!”
Tips for models starting out include listening to the advice of those you’re working with, as “the wisdom they give is priceless,” she says, but the most important thing is to maintain a healthy and balanced perspective at the end of the day.
“If you aren’t right for a certain shoot or runway walk, it doesn’t mean there is something wrong with you,” she says. “Don’t take anything too personally.”

“Not only is Lucy a fantastic designer, but she took the time to make sure I was comfortable in all the gowns she designed, and happily took my opinion into account. As soon as I met Lucy, I could tell what a genuine woman she is!” – Letitia Sindt
