The 2016 Melbourne Cup is all about fashion & fun… all with horse racing somewhere in the background. While many come for the atmosphere and the temptation of a big win, for some of us… it is all about the fashion, the shoes and the dress.

There are many reasons you may have missed the Myer fashions on the field designer awards. Maybe, you couldn’t attend the VIP invite only event? Maybe you wish to re-live the action, or… Maybe just remember it! Whatever the reason, we have you covered!

This year’s Myer Fashion on the Field designer awards was held at it’s new home ‘The Park’. Located on the hill behind the Flemington Grandstand, The Park is a beautiful new location for families, featuring live music, cocktail gardens and amazing food from some of Melbourne’s hottest food vendors.

Marcia Hines showed everyone she still has it with a magical 1-hour performance, whilst the Peter Rowland Catering team did an amazing job of keeping energy levels high.

“He was very friendly & took over the iphone to snap a selfie.”

Fashion designer Lucy Laurita of Leiela’s entry “Tuscany Picolo” is deep plunged neckline cascading ruffled , with swirl skirt. Modeled by the gorgeous Cindy Carino, the Tuscany Picolo features asymmetrical Plush fields with a spring print.

While the event is obviously is a competitive environment, Lucy doesn’t let that be the focus of her day. “We are there to enjoy the day, meeting up with our peers, taking the opportunity to be snapped by media & building on future collaborations.”

Sticking to her word, Lucy jumped at the chance to chat with fellow fashion designer, & this year’s MFOTF judge, Alex Perry. “He was very friendly & took over the iphone to snap a selfie.”
